Marriage Enquiry
Matrimony is a beautiful sacrament whereby the union of love between a man and woman  is established for their whole life.

Marriage is a lifelong commitment involving freedom, consent and responsibility. As such the Catholic Church respects the need for couples in love who desire to get married to be fully informed regarding their marriage vows. This means that all couples must attend a marriage preparation course to ensure that they understand and accept fully the Catholic Church's understanding of the sacrament of Holy Matrimony.

What To Do

Follow these steps to arrange your marriage. Please note that to marry in the Catholic Church one or both parties (either the Bride or Groom) must be a Baptised Catholic.

1. Contact the Parish either by telephone (01922 452316) or by using the Submission Form on this page. Select a marriage date. This date must be at least a year ahead in order to reserve the date and allow sufficient time for the necessary preparations.

2. You will be asked to make an appointment to see the Parish Priest to complete the Pre-Nuptial Enquiry Form and to begin a course of Marriage Preparation.

3. Attend the compulsory Marriage Preparation Course. This is a course hosted by Marriage Care.  The button below will take you straight to the relevant page of their website where you can book to attend. Sadly, due to the COVID Pandemic and its effects, spaces on the one-day face to face course are very limited in availability. I would therefore recommend that you choose 'Option 2' - the three 90min sessions conducted via Zoom.

4.   Do not forget to register your intention to marry with the Marriage Registrar's Office. The Walsall Registration Office is at the Civic Centre, Hatherton Road, Walsall, WS1 1TN.

Marriages at St. Mary of the Angels are normally celebrated on Fridays and Saturdays (another day of the week can be arranged with the Parish Priest) and when there are no other events taking place.
